volvo s40 Burning Body Control Module

Post by muz001 »

I have a s40 2004 2.0d. The car died on me, the dash lights were flashing and a clicking noise coming from the body control module located under the glove box (uk model). The car window wipers started going by themselves he car went a bit bonkers. I got a diagnostic done and found that the body control unit module had a burning smell from it, so im guessing that will nee replaced. Ive ordered a used BCM one but im not sure if this will work.Does it need to be a new one? Will it need to be programmed by volvo.?
Not sure what has causined the burning, all conectors and cabling seem to be good.

Much help will be appreciated Im at a bit of a dead end unless I pay volvo some big bucks.
