1998 V70 na PCV fix or placebo effect

Post by frisky99 »

Hello , finished the PCV job a few days ago , thanks to this board , and my car seems to run much better. I had some smoke from the dipstick and the system was original , I believe , and not that dirty considering 167K. I did find the small diameter elbow on the right side coming across from the left side of the manifold to be totally deteriorated , like lace with lots of holes . Is it just me or would I be able to notice a difference ? .
Thanks , Frisky

Closing off the vacuum leak should make a performance and mileage difference. The PCV system itself doesn't directly engine performance per-se but fixing the stuff hooked up to it does make a difference.

Thanks , I thought fixing the leak would help , but am surprised at the difference. I also lubed up the throttle cable and spring and the gas pedal is now super smooth . thanks to all , Frisky
