got about 204k on it.
the rear hatch won't unluck/lock with the fob/pl switch/door switch. the knob in the hatch seems to twitch when any of the switches are activated so it seems the solenoid is getting engergized, and i can hear it. i had the cover off and the linkage seems to be ok. the wiring seems to be ok. anybody had solenoids fail or get weak? could it be the knob is hanging up in the grommet in the hatch cover? i've cleaned it and lubed it with silicone spray to no avail.
the locking mechanism works fine. can lock/unlock manually and open the hatch.

Check the wiring where it goes from the car in to the tailgate by the left hinge point as the wires often break or get damaged leading to high resistance which could give the solenoid power to twitch but no fully fire over, worth checking sooner rather than later as the resultant damage to the cars wiring from a full melt down in the hinge point can be quite costly to repair - Mike

checked all the wiring, no issues. turns out the linkage and "pull stem" on the solenoid just need some lube. couldn't ask for a simplier fix!
