2005 S40 Can't Control where heat and air come out

Post by vwpower44 »

I have a Volvo S40. About a year ago, the car got the heat and AC stuck on the floor. After about 2 weeks, it started working again. A couple days ago, my car got stuck on defrost. I can change between heat and ac, and both work. I had the exact same problem in a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and it was the actuator for the blend door. I took it to Volvo and they said it needed an entire new system for $2800. I find this hard to believe unless it was a computer problem. Anyone ran into this problem? Is it worth replacing the blend door to see if that is the problem?

This website is awesome. I have been lurking for a while.

Thanks,

Mike

If you have heated seats try to unplug heated control modules under the seat.
If you have questions about Volvo firmware ask me. I may know an answer :)
