1991 940 SE Bypassing heater core

Post by slunabrink »

I just purchased a 91 940 SE. The windows recently started fogging and the coolant has been disappearing from the reservoir after a day of driving. How do I bypass the heater core? I don't have any need for a heater, living in Petaluma CA. I am not car savvy, so detailed, simple instructions would be really helpful. Thank you...

Find the heater control valve. Find heater hose coming from head (under the intake manifold). Find hose returning to water pump (behind the engine). Using whatever (need something with a 180 degree connection, such as two 90 degree fittings), connect hose from head to hose returning to water pump. Hose size is 5/8 inch.
