1999 S40 T4 - immobiliser - no start

Post by bubble1boo »

Hi all,
Bought my 99' S40 T4 2 months ago, and have not had the pleasure of driving it yet!!

The moment I got it I had to replace the radiator, aircon, spark plugs and battery.

The keys I got with the car has an aftermarket remote on, (autowatch 277 rl alarm)
My central locking does not work with the remote or with the key in the door.
Although it does work with the door lock button inside car.

I was so excited to finaly drive my car, but it doesn't start!
The dashlights come on, everything works but it just doesn't want to start, it cranks and sounds like it wants to but nothing.
It also sounds like the starter is slipping, I did 2 times manage to get it started but it dies right away.

I have a ground wire connected to the neg from the body panel, (weird) when I disconect that ground the car wil attempt to start, but then NO dashlights.

On the dash the immobiliser light flickers (car with X on it)
And a clicking sound coming from under the steering wheel.

I don't have a chipped key and my boyfriend did drive the car from the seller house to my house, so it did work.

I'm out of options, is there a way to bypass the alarm/immobiliser system completely???
And, does the aftermarket alarm/anti theft system affect my problem?
I would LOVE to completely REMOVE that aswell.

Any help would be my life saver now!
Diagrams / photos also please, I can't find any helpfull instructions online.

I have the 1999 S40 T4 - Automatic. (Right hand drive south africa)

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
