Hello All,
We just bought our daughter an S60. It's in pretty good condition. One problem is the center console armrest. It won't close, so it always stays open, just a little. And when I lift it, it's real stiff. On my V70, it has a nice, smooth, normal operation, so it seemed to me like there is something wrong with the hinge. I took the top part off, but I couldn't see how to remove the hinge and could not see anything obviously wrong.
So my question is, "Do all S60 armrest/console operate this way, or is there a problem with this one?" If there is a problem, what could it be? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I'd try spraying silicone lube in the hinge best you can. That may even take care of the latching issue. Sounds like lid was forced open past normal stop which distorted hinge.
