Good question, Iknow they are not vacuum lines, I think they are vent hoses. I followed them one time and they seemed to lead to the washer resovour. several of our Vols have these two lines.

I just went through hell with this, one line goes directly to the top of the washer res, the other I think is supposed to be on one part of a three-way valve that ultimately leads to the rear washer nozzle. There's a big "I think" there as replacing my rear washer pump didn't fix my washer problem. I am hoping a new washer squirter will do it but am afraid I might have screwed up the line leading to the rear from a very stupid car lifting attempt a couple of years ago where I ended up bending the floor.

Are you sure your washer pump is really not working? The reason why I ask is because I thought the same when I got my XC 2 years ago. It just would not spray even after prolonged pumping. I thought what the heck and put it on the "to do" list for later.
Every now and then I tried it again, and lo and behold, one day it finally started spraying. I think the lines must have been totally empty and it just took a long time for them to fill up. Just a theory though.

Well, I decided to Check my Rear washer, sure'nuff, it don't squirt. I looked again, the line on the left disappears somewhere, I guess to the top of the washer box? The other line goes to a Tee. I just can't figure out where the one on the Tee should go.
