Hello List

I'm relatively new to this car I purchased and a newbie on this list.

Sometime after buying the car (for my kid) I realized the previous owner had the long (26") driver side wiper installed on the passenger side, and the shorter passenger side blade installed on the driver's side.

So I reversed them- all good- but not quite.

The driver's side wiper (and it is correct one) goes above and beyond the upper part of the windshield- see pics.

There must be a simple solution but it has eluded me. I've even started to guess if the driver's side wiper arm is the correct one for this 2005 S40. When I look at some parts online, mine looks a bit different from what I see is supposed to be the correct arm.

Anyway- any help with this headache appreciated!!

My guess is the driver's side wiper arm is not the right part, seems too long (perhaps it's a passenger side wiper arm).

Yeah, looks like the two wiper arms were swapped.

OK- turning into a puzzle- but I'll check that out and see how it shakes out after I swap places.

As I mentioned, with the arms in existing spots, when I got the car the longer blade was on passenger side instead of driver's side.

It didn't have this issue then- but it had large swaths that weren't covered! When I looked into it I read the big 26" blades goes on driver's side so I switched BLADES. Maybe its the arms that are swapped instead?? Weird..
