2004 XC90 No auto available only manual

Hi Guys,

just looking for some advice on 2 problems I have with my Volvo, XC90 2004.

1) Whilst driving my car the radio went off by itself and wouldn't come back on. Along with the radio, the dvd, sat nav, parking sensor and the dvd players all went dead. Over a few weeks they worked spontaneously, but was off more than it was on. Ive been given conflicting advice from specialists, such as its the ecu for the radio sat nav dvd player and parking sensor, and its a different edu for the dvd player. But that may not fix the problem. Has anyone else had similar problems and got a solution to remedy this issue?

2? whilst driving a week ago, there was a sudden loud bang to which i came to a stop. After doing some checks, i went to drive off but the car engine just revved. I checked that i had engaged D but it still reved and started going backwards. I managed to put it into manual mode and park up. I now have to drive in manual mode gear 3, otherwise the engine just reeves and goes backwards.
I have taken it to several mechanics and they put in on the computer which doesn't seem to tell them much apart from its a mechanical problem.

Ive been told it could be the transmission or it could be a ecu? Once again has anyone had experience of this issue?
