First post here. I did search for my issue and am quite sure that I have the solution. I'd like a second set of eyes though.
2000 S80 non turbo
Check engine light came on. I had a garage test it. They said that I had a bad coil on five and the wrong kind of spark plug. They said that I had a plug meant to be installed on a turbo.
They offered to change the coil pack and spark plug for $289.
I read up on the amount of work it entailed from this forum and did it myself in about 5 minutes. I bought a Bosch coil pack. I did not change the spark plug
I tested the car out driving ten miles. It accelerated fine, no flashing lights.
Half way to work this morning (I have a 42 mile commute) it started sputtering and the check engine light started flashing. The car was making a gurgle noise. I assume unburned gas in the exhaust.
The fix I was thinking about is to replace the remaining 5 coils and all six plugs. Before I spend the three hundred bucks though I was wondering if this is worth it or should I look at something else?
If it were a bad or fouled plug wouldn't it have cleared after running 20 miles?
I'm at work as I write this. I have a 42 mile drive to get back home tonight. I have no choice.

Follow up on this. I drove it up to a local Auto Zone. I had them scan it. It showed misfire on cylinder #2. So I bought a coil for #2. Runs like a top now. So I had to replace both 5 and 2 coils.
I bought new plugs and set the gap, but due to -10F weather, no space in the garage and back surgery I have opted to wait another 6 weeks to change plugs. But it can wait.
