Good morning,
I have purchased a 2003 Volvo S40 1.8 Petrol non Turbo after selling my V70 last year.
This S40 has now developed a P0340 error.
Engine management light is on.
When I reset the light it comes back after the second time starting
Car drives ok but is slow below 3000 rpm
I have changed the sensor already but to no avail
I went through the steps as described in this topic
https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=31301
I have a wiring diagram so know the color codes of the wiring for the S40 and which one is which
Ground is ok but the voltage is showing as 5 Volts on the Camshaft positioning sensor.
Is this correct for this car or should this be 12V ?
The wiring digram doesn't show the voltage on this point.
2003 S40 P0340 error Voltage question
I had some time this weekend to get to the ECU for my P0340 error.
I disconnected the plug and checked the wires of the camshaft positioning sensor and these are all three ok
I have opened the ECU itself to see if there are any cracks on the printed circuit board but can not find any ( I've looked with a jewellers loop)
The camshaft positioning sensor + housing and rotor have now been replaced and crankshaft positioning sensor replaced.
This morning the car was a bit lazy when starting the engine
Another code has appeared which is a P0335 code
Both codes are pointing towards circuit A
PO340 Powertrain
Camshaft positioning sensor "A" circuit
P0335 Powertrain
Crankshaft positioning sensor "A" circuit
I disconnected the crankshaft sensor and measured the both wires where the sensor is connected to
Both wires do show resistance and also when I set the ignition key to position 2 it measures voltage ?
Voltage is 1.82V
Is this correct or should one of the wires be connected to ground?
