1997 850 Wagon Vacuum Line

I am trying to get my free 850 wagon to run smooth. Today when I was replacing my mass air sensor assembly I noticed that one little purple line coming from the top of the air box. Can someone please tell me where this little line goes to.

Purple is usually the line from the SAS valve but start here, let us know if more questions:

There should be a yellow sticker under the hood with the vacuum hose layout, too.

its a secondary air system, an emissions thing.

the airbox vacuume hoses should not play a part in the rough idle, as they only operate the flapper for hot/air recirculation (this means you have an NA right, non turbo?) The flapper opens and closes on the airbox depending on temp and vacuum under throttle. Is your pre-heat hose connected to the exhaust manifold? If not, you can "fry" your MAF in no time. (big silver hose connected to airbox in back)

If you have a rough idle, any codes?

I have a NA 850.My exhaust pre heat hose is connected. I just replaced the MAS ans idle air valve. I know I need new plugs and wire. I don't have any more engine code cause I just ran my laptop through the OBD an cleared the MAS. I do know on American car if you have a vacuum line hooked up it will have a rough idle. I have never owed an import before this one an don't know there vacuum systems. I know they basically the same but something are different.

the line I am trying to figure out it black not purple. On my car there is a white line an a black line the white one is hooked up. its the black that is not hooked to anything.

If anyone else is trying to figure out that same line I was. I figured out were it went on my 2.5 NA. The line is a real small black plastic line I found out it runs from the top of the air box down to the bottom in a elbow the is right next to the line that hooks up to the exhaust heat tube, This line actually operates the flapper valve for the exhaust heat tube.
