Front or rear ones? Front driver's side one is sometimes stuck in there. I used the wheel lug wrench which happens to have a flat end, to pry between the transmission and the axle. You'll need to remove the axle bolt, remove the two lower strut bolts (have both front wheels lifted), then the shaft end should slide off the spindle.

I'm doing the front passenger side. I finally got the lower control arm off the ball joint. Now, I'm having trouble getting the drive shaft into the spindle and getting the control arm back on the ball joint.

Next time undo the control arm at the subframe side, it is much easier this way.
