Loosening lock but on DS outer tie rod.

Hi, my question is what direction loosens the lock/jam but on the driver's side outer tie rod on an s70? Just trying to do this and I don't want to be incorrect and working against myself,

From the top turn down towards the rear of the car. It is a standard right hand thread.

I still don't trust myself when I eyeball a thread for Lh vs RH so I put a pin in the thread and follow the thread to see which direction unscrews it....

Yeah you wouldn't want to send that in the wrong direction. Whenever I'm unsure, I hold a ratchet in proper orientation with the nut in question, to determine which way to push/pull. I always get confused when the nuts are on the under side of something, when I'm on top.
