C70 window trim - odd part and bad fit

Hey folks. Helped my parents get the door panel back on their 1998 C70 and had picked up a few window trim clips to reaffix the triangular piece of trim that covers the side mirror attachment. Turns out the clips are not the correct size - they are slightly shallower than the original white ones in the picture. The clips I got are the ones FCP lists as part # 9151566, but they don't fit. Does anyone have a different part # suggestion?

Second, even with proper clips, this piece of trim does not seem to fit back into its place well at all. Does the panel need to come back off for the trim to go on? It looked to me like the trim clipped OVER the door panel, but I could be wrong.

The Volvo part # is 8611828.

The part you bought is for what is called the 'P2' body style which is from 2001 on, as well as the S80 up to 2004.

Your car has what we call the P80 body style and in C70 coupe ran from 98-02 and convertible from 98-05.
