Powert door locks "clicking"

Post by Squeaky »

On my '94 850 Turbo wagon I can often hear a "clicking" noise coming from what I believe is the power door lock mechanism - it sounds as though it's trying to lock the doors, but can't. The only way to stop it is to lock it manually with the key or with the remote.

When I go at speed around a corner (one direction in particular - can't remember if it's left or right), it will sometimes start to click, if it has not been happening already. One other possible clue - about half the time, pushing the "lock" button on the remote will not lock the doors and I have to do it with the key. "Unlock" always works.

Perhaps a bare wire is moving about and shorting out from time to time...?

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas?

Thanks

Do the locks just keep trying to go up and down.

I have a similar issue but it is due to my rear hatch lock.
