Post by greenhites »

Hi,

I want to remove airbag to adjust steering wheel for volvo xc70 2008 D5.

I could see inside with mirror and torch.
But only I could see flat steel.
I went to Volvo service center but they said I need special tool.
Pls help me to do my job.

I have tried many times and finally I could do it.

To do,

- Remove battery terminals.

- Use needle style awl rather then flat or cross screw driver.
That was the reason that I couldnt do it.

- U might not notice that one side of airbag popped up because there will be only one or 2mm pop.
But u will know if its popped or not.

- Turn wheel and do it in same way.

- U will easily find how to unplug airbag cable.

But I couldnt adjust steering wheel because gap between each column is about 2mm which means
there will be about 15degee turn of steering wheel if I move one column.
You will know only when you remove steering wheel and see it.
My limit of English cant explain all.

I still want to know if I can adjust my steering wheel only 3 degrees to right direction.
No worth to replace shock ab sober because my car is too old.
My steering wheel is 4 degree left from centre.
I guess its because one of my shock absber has got problem.

Pls teach me how to adjust if anybody know.

Thanks.

Go to a shop, you need a front end alignment
During the alignment they will set your wheel straight
