Strange connector by the radiator fan

Hey forgive me for asking So many questions, I'm really investigating everything in my S60 as it has turned out to have more surprises than i thought.. this connector is by the radiator fan and it only has one wire going to it. However, the connector looks like it was made for two wires, picture below.

Is this correct only having one wire to the connector?

No worries, that is correct, that connector has one wire on each side.

The fan control module is triggered ON by a violet wire coming from the ECU. Look for a place on the fan module where it can plug into. (From your description it sounds like you found the connector hanging loose.)

Does your fan ever turn on?

Page 81 of the following diagram shows how the fan system is wired. It's from a different year but it should be the same for your car:

Thanks. The fan does turn on correctly so i think it's good for now! I appreciate all the help!
