'04 V70 trip odometer resets itself
From what I can find this is a common software bug that can be fixed using Volvo part number 30677020 update. There are a couple of online retailers that list that "part" for about $20. I have one of the knockoff computers, can I upload the update with that or does it need to be a dealer?

You have to buy a 3 day subscription to buy software, better to just let your dealer do this the next time you're there.
This was a F*** up from Volvo and on most cars was done for free. You could lobby your dealer for a freebie if you're there for any other work

The nearest dealer is over an hour away and the only work they've ever done for me was warranty on a leaking fuel pump. I ended up coming back several times with fuel gauge issues from that. So, I'm not sure that they like me too much right now. I'll have to call and see what they say.
