So a couple of days ago a piece of my inner fender well decided to eat away at my serpentine belt and frayed it when this happened the engine stopped running and i replaced the belt but now the car will not start. i have made sure it has spark and gas the engine cranks but it wont fire. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Did anything happen to your timing belt? Did you remove the outer timing belt cover to see if everything's alright in there?
Is the crank really weak/weird? There are a lot of videos on Youtube of cranks on cars with no compression. Here's one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM8MpPjudEM If it sounds like that, you might be looking at head work...

Try to manually crank the engine over. That'll give you some idea of what's going on. With plugs in, the engine should crank over, and it should be stiff and firm. If it's too easy, or if it won't budge at all, you've got some mechanical damage in there. It could be the timing. Take off the outer timing belt cover and give it a good look. Good luck troubleshooting.

Were you deriving the car when this happened, or was it just sitting in the driveway and happened at startup? Especially if the timing path looks OK, try putting one teaspoon of oil in each cylinder, to restore compression. You will have to crank it a long time.Dingo957 wrote:So a couple of days ago a piece of my inner fender well decided to eat away at my serpentine belt and frayed it when this happened the engine stopped running and i replaced the belt but now the car will not start. i have made sure it has spark and gas the engine cranks but it wont fire. I hope the timing path is OK.
