Curious question about S60 passenger tail lights

So I've wondered this since getting my S60. I've noticed the passenger side tail light has like a reflector in inside tail light but driver side does not. Why Is that?

Might it have something to do with the presents of a rear fog light bulb on the LH side but not on the RH side?

Rear fog position only illuminates on the LH side. If it illuminated on both sides it would be confusing to drivers behind you who might think you are hitting the brakes. Hence the RH mirrored position of the rear fog is a 'blank'. Why the made it silver is beyond me.
