2004 V70 OBD II codes...

Recently bought a very nice 2004 V70. Just started throwing a code, P2187. I looked it up, "adaptive heated oxygen sensor...", but would anyone be able to tell me what I should check/change first? Perhaps O2 sensor, but which one?

No expert on O2 sensors but I believe the front sensor is the heated one, its heated to reduce warm up time for the adaptive trims to kick in or something like that.

I would try to get the proper volvo vida codes, they show a bit more than the OBD code reader.
Mine said O2 sensor signal missing, it was the fuse.
In the engine bay fuse box, fuse #4 is for the O2 sensors.

Can be caused by vac leak anywhere in the system, that causes the front O2 to signal for richer mix.
I've got a leaking injector O ring seal doing the same thing, have to get to it before winter.

It makes sense to check the sensors, if good then the problem is upstream.
This can be done with a laser thermometer or multimeter.

That code descriptor is not right. You need to get the Volvo code read bY VIDA and report back
