Where to buy ESS "speedometer shims" ?

Post by vcowens »

The Bentley service manual has a section on adjusting the speedometer speed sensor via shims. The manual also tells you of the clearance and tolerance specs. I've done an internet search and can't find anywhere that sells speedometer shims. Any ideas? My speedometer is reading about 6-8 mph too fast. I am running Volvo Corona rims on a 1991 240. Thanks everyone.

I'm thinking it doesn't work that way. Maybe your tires aren't tall enough.

Electronics don't work that way

Well, look on the bright side, higher m.p.g., and speeding tickets won't happen:-)

Ye must have quite small tires...
