Driver window crooked

Hello,

I have my front driver side window that doesn't go up by itself. The window goes up a little bit, but crooked and I hear some weird noise from the door. I can still raise it if I help it with my hand and it stays up.

Any ideas of what could have broken ? And could it be easily repaired ?

I imagine that the first thing I will have to do is remove the door panel, but I'm reticent to open it if at the end it takes special tools or skills to fix that.

Idk about 2006 model, but the early model had that issue.

I fixed the same issue in my 1998 S70 and here is the DIY...

Plastic slider blocks crack if you operate the window in the presence of ice on the glass.
Very cheap at the dealership.
Needle nose pliers make it easy to pull retaining springs on the sliders.
Remove,replace add a blob of lith grease .
Find the video pertinent to your model but they're probably similar enough.
Need to do mine again...in the spring.

Right now we've got the same issue going on with my wife's 2005 S80. I haven't pulled it apart yet but since there is so much online info pointing to the sliders I went ahead and ordered a package of four off of Amazon. Normally I am rather suspicious of cheap aftermarket parts, but since the OE ones aren't all that great then I figured what do I have to lose. All four were the same price as a single dealer-supplied slider, and outward appearance would suggest there's no difference. I'll know in a couple days whether that was the problem or not, but in the mean time the little wood wedges that are holding the window up are giving the car that good 'ole down home look.

While I'm in the door I'll also be performing surgery on the window control switch (DDM) as the momentary UP position is not making good contact. Auto UP position works OK so we have to completely close the window then use momentary DOWN to put it where you really want it - what a pain!

That are very good advices. The little video gave me confidence that I can do it myself. I will command those parts on Amazon and give it a try.
