Fuel Pump Location on 2003 V70 Wagon

Hello,

I looked around the web for the location of the fuel pump and sending unit, and took the back seats out of mine, there were two access panels under the seats so I removed them but no fuel pump under there? See photos..Where is the FP Located?

Hi, would you mind tell us what is the actual issue? I'm asking because these pumps almost never fail, however many mechanics want to replace them as they do on other car brands. Most of the time, a fuel delivery problem is related to the PEM module or to the FPS sensor.

Hello, I have a not starting problem, there is no fuel at the schader valve on the fuel rail of my 2002 V70 petrol car, with the valve core removed there is no fuel coming out when the enging is cranked over.
Cannot hear the pump running in the tank.
I have searched under the car near the filter and in the spare wheel well but can't find the PEM.
Any idea where the thing is supposed to be anybody? Thanks

The 2002 model has no PEM. That was a later inclusion.

Did it use the 1999-2001 style pump or was it a true 2002 Bastard design?

The original post shows the steel tank ports. The wires and fuel line are not on the tank hole cover on those. There is no LH side ejector or level sender as that tank is flat bottomed and has no issue with trapped fuel. fuel pump pic from RockAuto shows no harness to a lid as the lid is not part of the pump/sender unit.

A bit of confusion here as the original poster has a 2003, while the second person who brought back this topic today has a 2002. So for a 2003 I would first look at the PEM see if it has corrosion.

For the original poster with the 2003 car, the pump is in your first picture, but I would warmly recommend not to blame the pump in the first place, Volvo pumps are very long lasting - at least don't discard it if replacing it. Also, there is a pump relay under the dash https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=116617

Might be worth also replacing the FPS with a used one.

Also, read a bit about 'catching' the pump pipe that goes into the other side of the tank, so you don't loose it inside the tank
