spare plugs above window controls

hey guys.

I was looking cor a spare place to put my gain control knob and found a plug that was plugged into the dummy. it has r wires in it. can anyone please tell me what this is/can be for.

I think they may have been for the optional rear seat heaters but I have never traced them out.

Electric side mirrors. The controls for the rear electric seats are on the back side of the center console.

the mirrors are plugged in and working. the plug has 4 wires. not sure the color codes now. but it is right above the mirror adjusters at that dummy cover right next to the gearlever.

I think the plug the OP is referring to is the socket that is under the center console. It has been vacant on all of my cars but I have no rear seat heaters on any of them,

Looks like some kind of selector switch on the left hand side. Maybe a transmission selector switch?

My cars have never had anything plugged in there but they were both manual. IIRC Volvo sent out the same harnesses in every car for the different options and only plugged in the applicable switches, or something like that. Hope the attached pics help.
