I checked the manual in the glove box and it would seem that a "5W-30" viscosity motor oil would work for my naturally aspirated V70. Does this sound correct to you guys?

Sounds right. For really hot weather and/or hard driving you might want to step up to a *w40 but for normal conditions you'll be perfectly fine.
There are a couple of different recommendations depending on MY and market so it's not a case of "this one or it dies". More important to keep up with the changes and not use too poor oil (i e mineral oil).

I have the same engine as you. I've had three of them.
Switched over to Mobil1 0W-40 European Formula years ago with the second one.
Before that I'd use any good quality 5W-30; conv., semi-synth. such as Motorcraft red jug or synthetic.
I used to run synthetic in the Winter and the others in warmer months.
As stated above; no cheap oil and change it on time.
