high beams short
high beams short
Looking for solution to no head lites or high beams. when i switch to high beams number 2 fuse blows do any of you have a clue where to start??? thanks Virian11.
I own a 1988 740 Volvo sedan, this car historically was a Wyo-tech, student project car! i purchased to car, it has low miles on it, 165.000 miles, which is low for a 1988 Volvo, it appears who ever worked on this car was a complete "Empty-Head" like he as at a "Pic-n-pull! they literally took everything apart on the left side of this car, (not unbolt or unscrew) but just pull and "Rip" including headliner, and door panels. I was able to put everything back together until i ran into the head-lites and tail lites and high bean lites! When i turn on the high beams, the number 2 fuse blows, i haven't changed to switch yet because it appears there is i short between the switch and fire wall, i just need to look further but i did not want to dig through that jungle under the dash. when i went to all of the "So-Call-Volvo, guys and mechanics, the 1988 740 sires is out of their reach. so it looks like i am going to dig in!

Fuse #2 appears to be fed by the junction block (Red wire) then on other side of fuse goes to the combination switch (red wire) and the locking relay (red wire). Combination Switch being the turn signal/ high beam switch.
