Maybe I'm the only one in the dark on this one, but I'm willing to bet a few people out there haven't seen this.

Hood position pro tip
So I've had my car 10 years now, it's been in the family since new, and I've done almost every repair to this car in that time. I've somehow managed to avoid learning that you can position the hood straight up. Sharing this in case anyone missed it like I did. It certainly gives more headroom if you're working on things like the turbo.
Maybe I'm the only one in the dark on this one, but I'm willing to bet a few people out there haven't seen this.

Some VW's have something similar - believe I ran into this on a Jetta.
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

My 960 would do this by with buttons on the hood struts that allowed them to extend. So Volvo must have given extendable hood access to many models. June

Make sure to check your overhead clearance if in a garage. Don't want to accidentally smash the shop light hanging over your work area... I'm still finding glass shards 6 months later.
