850 T5R SRS problem
Hello everyone. I have an SRS problem with my 1995 850 T5R, was hoping to get a little help. When I start my car the SRS light never comes on. I did a little digging through Google and found there was a little issue with the crash sensor being installed just under the cup holder which results in people spilling their drinks and shorting out the sensor. I'm guessing this is what happened to me also, so I was thinking of just going to a junk yard and finding another 850 to pull out the crash sensor to put it in mine. I'm just an amateur when it comes to car work, I can do things like brakes, oil changes, and other "easy" fixes, but I've never really done any wiring work. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Specifically, are the crash sensors the same for a base 850 and the T5R or turbo model? Would there be other complications, with it being a sensor with a computer chip and stuff, would I need to do additional work besides just swapping them out? Also, I checked the OBD but when I put the pin in the B5 slot, nothing happens, the LED just lights up and never changes/blinks. Thanks for any help.

Dumb questions first, I have one! The SRS light never, ever comes on - are you sure it isn't just a burnt out bulb?

It doesn't suppose to turn on when you start the car if SRS system is OK.
It MUST turn ON when key is in pos.II,and turn OFF as soon as you start the car indicating that system is OK.
If it is faulty you would have SRS light ON permanently.
Check the bulb like erikv11 allready suggested and ALL fuses too.
