I found out my upper torque mount is failing.
I plan on replacing that. It seems that for this style mount I just buy the whole mount and not just the bushing. Correct?
It seems that on 98 s70 and 850s they used a different style upper torque mount when compared to my 99.
I'm curious. What symptoms would I expect if that were to fail completely?
Thanks... -A

Expect extreme vibrations, hard shifts, and undue strain on the transmission, exhaust, and axles.

Vibrations are not extreme...it's noticeable a bit more than normal at idle, shifting have nothing to do with it or the rest of the car.
The symptoms you're discribed would be present if complete assembly would have been removed from the car.
Extreme vibrations are present when lower right engine mount is broken(under the crank pulley) or lower left.
'99 have different style mount...but bushing is available as separate part...no need for complete assembly.
Meyle HD(not regular Meyle) have that bushing and it will last more than OE.

Ha. I know. Right now it is just 1/2 torn. But I'm changing my oil this weekend and I figure I'll just replace that mount along with it.
I had a parts car in my driveway a while back where that mount was completely destroyed and probably had been for years.

Well got to look at the positives! Issue is when it fails it puts more stress on the lower torque mount (available for FWD but not for AWD) and the mount under the crankshaft pulley. The biggest issue is that the upper radiator pipe has little flex. Failing top mounts allow the engine to twist further backward and can eventually cause the upper outlet on the radiator to crack and break and flex the RH end of the radiator causing it to split. So don't delay!!
Other than removing the spark plug cover, it is held on by 4 bolts and the bolt through the torque mount. 30 minute job, 1 hour if you have any of the spark cover bolts that are stubborn. Check the location of the 4 mounting bolts for the mount as they are different lengths.
Neil.
