Hey Guys!
I have read a ton of post on this and maybe mine is the same or different but I am a loss. I bought my dream car about 8 months back. It is a 97 850R wagon. When I purchased the car I replace all the normal. PCV system, Timing Belt and Components, Belts, Ignition Wires, mad coil, Plugs, Cap, Rotor, pulled upper Valve Train cover replaced Cam Seals, Cam Position Sensor, upgraded turbo to a 16, ipd’s Cat Back System. And the result I ended up with a car that blows smoke in the morning on start up and under hard acceleration. In the last week I pulled it all back apart to check everything and found condisation goop in the trap and pcv hoses. So I replaced all vacuum hoses, upgraded TCV (ipd) top mount inter cooler kit and boots (ipd), brake booster hose, oil filler cap gasket, oil dipstick o rings, heater hoses and adapter and now it has gotten worse. Smokes almost all the time and blowing oil out the oil cap I am assuming on boost. I am at a loss. Compression is good, vacuum at cap at idle, no smoke from dipstick. Could this this over 300k beast need a motor. Finally got my power but the smoke smells like burnt crayons. Please help.

Was the turbo rebuilt or a used one ?
Tracking down the water in the oil is important before you ruin your work.
Check in the swede forum to see if you need to open up the exhaust , maybe boost is just overpowering the crankcase

Did you redo the head including valve guide seals? At 300k those are probably pooped.
It's possible to have good compression and bad oil rings, unfortunately disassembly and measuring the long block is the only way to confirm.

I was afraid you were going to say all that
! Vi think I will find a donor engine and build it then just swop the whole thing. I will check both out. Thanks for your help. I had it pretty much pegged but was hoping I was missing something.

I would say 95% chance the problem is worn out valve stem seals but I'm a little perplexed that it got so much worse so recently.
Unless the exhaust is actually clogged, this isn't caused by a need to open it up. The engine compartment is restored but it is still basically stock, and the IPD catback will flow better than stock.

If your compression is good I wouldn't give up on the motor that quick. I had similar issues thinking it was valve stem seals, had a rebuilt turbo but you know what.. it was the turbo. Did you rebuild the turbo yourself or have a shop do it? My issue was resolved after another careful turbo rebuild (make sure the core is not worn in any way) and using ''stepped'' turbo ring seals. You can pop off the exhaust to check if it's burning oil around that turbine seal before doing any of this.
Also make sure oil level isn't overfull and pcv is operating properly (holes in block clean)
Good luck

True - if you still have the original 15g you could pop it on there and drive it for a few days. There should be a very big difference if the turbo was the problem.
