radio codes

My '99 C70 needed be reset,and after putting in the code.It came up phone, what is that and how do I go back tothe radio?

You can get the code from Volvo here: http://volvo.custhelp.com/app/webforms/ ... UyMQ%3D%3D

Just fill it out with your VIN if it's the original radio and the site should provide your code instantly. If it's not original, you can add the radio's serial number (on top of the radio on a sticker) in the additional details section.

Didn't even know this existed. I know my radio code but I tried just for the fun of it.

The OP didn't ask for the radio code, he seems to have that already.

This is a strange one, I have never seen the display read "phone" but found a few examples but no solution in a quick search. I would try unplugging the radio again, see if it says "phone" again the next time you put in the code.

If you figure it out please tell us what fixes it.

Is the harness to the radio still factory stock and unmolested?
If it's been spliced, cut or otherwise tampered with, the radio
may be seeing a signal that an optional phone is active.

Whoops, I totally misread the post.. I guess I was tired!

That's definitely strange. Check the connections behind the radio, make sure all the connectors are clean and fully clipped into place.
