Exhasut/turbo Gaskets, YES or NO?

Post by 850T5Ritalia »

Hi,

Regarding a '95 T-5R with a B5204T

I've tried searching and found some contradicting answers on the topic of gaskets between the exhaust manifold-turbo and between the turbo-downpipe.

Since I can't find replacement gaskets for my car.. Did Volvo intend to NOT use gaskets?

When I did mine:
turbo-downpipe there is none
Manifold-turbo I got a metal gasket. But, I didn't use it as it was impossible to get it on right with the studs and I bent it... so I threw it away. Probably better to use on there, but it was without gasket when I took it apart. Maybe it helps with preventing manifold cracks. You don't need it to get an airtight seal.
