Location of Solenoid B in the 960 AW 30- 40 transmission

Have the flashing arrow transmission fault on my transmission. It's been going on for a couple of months now and driving me crazy.

I replaced the transmission earlier this spring. I didn't know that the trans was full of gunk until it was installed when changing the filter and fluid. I was able to drive the car it came out of about 100 miles and thought it was a good trans. It was so dirty that since spring I've replaced the filter 5 times and used at least 20 gallons of ATF doing drain and fills. I couldn't believe this trans worked at all as nasty as the gunk was in the pan. Really bad and a couple inches thick. Have no idea what it was.



Since the flashing arrow came it's been shifting fine. Except for an intermittent 1st 1 to 2 shift of the day now that it's gotten cold. I'll have to blip the throttle for it to hit 2nd and it's fine the rest of the day. Yesterday my cheap code reader came up with 2 trans code that has never shown any trans codes. The 2 codes that came up are
0705- PNP switch &
O755- Shift Solenoid B

I cleaned the PNP When I installed this trans and when the flashing light came on I got a 2nd PNP switch. Tried it before I cleaned that one and cleaned it after the light remained on. All functions work. Starts in park, neutral and reverse lights work.

This is along post, attempting to give all information about. I'm going to get another trans to have on standby for when/if it quits. I won't go through replacing it until the one in the car quits shifting. Took me days to install and is the only car I have. So need to know the location of
Solenoid B
as I'll be going to Pull A Part today to try a 3rd PNP switch. Thanks for any assistance. Cannot find any info on the solenoid location.

A new PNP switch is about $170 and I'm not ordering one right now.
Volvo Books for the Green manuals lists 3 transmission manuals and all are NLA. No longer available.

At the yard today I also tried a different TCU. The flashing light came back on in about 5 miles.
Went back and pulled the valve body. I'll get it in soon. Still want to know the location of Solenoid B.
