2006 xc70 subframe question

I am new to the forum and new to owning Volvos. My wife wanted safe all wheel drive vehicles. I got her a 2009 xc90 and my daughter a 2006 xc70.

The xc70 had been in what I thought was a minor accident on front passenger side. When I took it to be aligned I was told it had a bent subframe. It is out of whack far enough that the tie rods cannot be adjusted enough to to bring it into alignment. I put a new control arm on it and it didn’t help. I just finished pulling the subframe and to me it looks bent where the control arm attaches. Can someone with experience with the subframe tell me if it is really bent or if it is supposed to look like this?

The other thing I found very strange is the center of the rear bushing on the driver side is oval instead of round. Is this normal??

You can get used subframe at local junkyard or ebay for around $100 or so.

Very hard to say for the subframe pic, those large 'bends' is how the metal is framed at the factory, to give it enough rigidity (the subframe is a hallow tube afterwards). For any deformation, look rather near the two horizontal front control arm bolts, compare the two sides. You may also have a damaged subframe bushing like the one you pulled - the rubber may be completely crushed, the center sleeve will look tossed to one side. The round center sleeve is normal, I think it's only on the two rear ones, front ones would be round. Try moving the center sleeve with the handle of a ratchet, see how stiff it is. Replacement ones will all be round I think. By all means, go with genuine for these bushings, Hutchinson 'may' be also good but not sure, don't touch anything else. DIY online, need a hole saw to chop off these
For the geometry, you may want to make sure you got the correct tie rods in there. There were two (or more) different racks, and they have different tie rod lengths - if these are mismatched, no alignment joy
