Volvo Repair Database 1999 V70 Radio Volume

Post by Niknak »

Hi, don't know if anyone out there can help me, but I own a late old-shape V70 and have an original Radio/CD player fitted.
I don't have a hand book for the radio and I want to know a bit more about the automatic volume control, the faster you go, the louder it gets!! When i bought the car, it had just the standard Volvo radio in it, and this did the same. I have been told this is something it does, to compensate for the engine noise, (I have a 2.5TDi) but it is really annoying, but because i am not the owner of the hand book, I don't know whether it is possible to switch this off, and it is really annoying.
Can anyone help me please?

thanks, eventually found out that holding in the CD button turns it off.

Ive come to the conclusion that ASC stands for Annoying Sound Control!!!!

Don't know if anyone else can help, does anyone have a radio/cd handbook they would be willing to sell, or send me a copy of, i notice there are a few other things on the screen, i don't know what they are for.

Thanks for all your help.

Regards.
