On my 08 3.2, the lower radiator hose attaches to a 3-way fitting with a metal u-clip/o-ring (same as the thermostat connection to the upper radiator hose).
I unlocked the u-clip but the fitting is still stuck together. I tried prying where where the two pieces come together but that just broke off bits of the plastic flange. These connectors are keyed so it's not possible to twist them.
How can they be separated without destroying the parts?
thanks for your advice!

The o-ring sticks and what you are trying to do is the only way to separate. Keep on trying with different tools, multiple tools at once, and different directions of wiggling. If you have to spray a little lubricant in the area, just ensure you clean it off before reassembly.

Thanks for your suggestions. It was difficult to get leverage so I ended up taking out the 3-way hose (twist-lock connector at the back and hose clamp at the lower front of the engine) and was able to eventually get the radiator hose off. What a pain in the neck!
