XC90 2007 bluetooth handsfree system (Motorola IHF 1700)

I have a XC90 with the motorola IHF 1700 bluetooth system fitted from the factory. My dad randomly did something to get the module in "Engineering mode"
After few hours googling i found out that "engineering mode" if a mode to update the unit using bluetooth.
I would love to update the unit but i cant find the firmware files anywhere.
Motorolla support does nothing. They dont even remember that they produced a unit like this.
Or at least how can i get it back to working state?

Edit: Motorola answered me and sent me the manual how to update the firmware on this unit but they dont have the files for it. Does anyone have them?

Hello Jokers,

I have the same issue with my bluetooth set in my Toyota Avensis 2008...
It had been forgetting the paired devices and somehow it got into engineering mode.
I've found out too, that it has something to do with software upgrading, but I cannot exit this mode, or reset the modul.

I've tried the method written in volvo's manual but didn't work.

Please tell me, have you figured out how to fix the problem?

I'm also facing the same issue with my C30. Motorola IHF1700 bluetooth went into that nasty engineering mode, but no chance to get it back to normal.

Any idea how it could be changed back?
Can I maybe order a used ecu, that is not the same Volvo type, but the the same Motorola IHF1700 model?
