Purported to have been done on SwedeSpeed or other Fora?
Well, this aint happening without a lot of welding...look at the mounting bosses on the Awd. Maybe the delta links bolt in but I don’t see it going FWD to AWD easily

I’ll try to get a better shot of the FWD shock towers to see if the chassis are identical there.

An AWD and R AWD are mostly the same up front and the same in the suspension department. The XC sits higher and I am not sure what they did to raise the front other than larger tires. The other differences are how the engine and trans are mounted to allow for the angle gear. Again the differences are the rear mounting for the engine and the LHS trans mount.
At the rear the AWD and R are mostly the same in 98 but rear brakes change, especially in 00 where the R brakes are unique to that model. The XC has different mount points on the rear hubs to the AWD but otherwise the same.
I recall a guy on MVS who started an AWD to FWD or the reverse process. I think he was in Norway.
Neil.

I think AWD to FWD is bolt on in the rear, but FWD does not have the bosses to screw the AWD carrier into.
