Which one is for '97 850 B5254S M4.4 without EGR and WITH SAS?

Fcp says that:
-9146266 is for engines WITH EGR
-1275055 for engines WITHOUT EGR

Skandix says:
-9146266 for engines WITHOUT EGR
-1275055 for engines WITH EGR

Ipd includes BOTH types in their PCV kit :!:

All others....says 9146266 without mentioning...with or without EGR.

I don't know which is which i.e. who us wrong, but I can tell you the key is the shape of the ports on the IM. If your manifold has the little notch at the top of each port, get 9146266. If the ports are smooth with no notch then you want 1275055. You can tell by just opening the hood and looking in at 1, 2 and 5 intakes with a flashlight.

My 96 and 98 turbo engines, and my 96 NA engine, all use 9146266. None of them have EGR.

I'll take a look for those notches.

Can we compare our intake manifold numbers?

I'll need to service PCV system....and just don't want surprises after i dismantle everything and find out that intake manifold gasket is the wrong one.

Glove test at idle barely inflate the glove...but as soon as i rev it a bit....it inflates almost instantly...giving me a high 5.

PCV last time serviced more than 10 years ago.

If this doesn't cut my oil consumption....the next step will be head rebuilt pretty soon.

Now....the engine burns 1l/per 1000km from last oil change.
Before that it wasn't that bad.
We'll see.

I don’t think any 1997s have EGR, misha

Let me see what Volvo says...9146266 seems to be consensus

The illustrations are wrong, none of them show the notched gasket/IM. The part number guidance seems to be right. Keep in mind Volvo's databases are known to be peppered with errors.

This one is simple to solve. Look at the car.

You can send me an IM part number and if it's easy to check I'd be happy to.

I can't find those notches....at least i don't know where to look for them.
I tried 1,2 & 5 and couldn't see them.

This is my manifold with part# 6842423 on it:
