fog light relay for 2007 V70?

Post by pronouncedeyen »

Hi. I just finished up installing the Volvo fog lights in an '07 V70 that didn't have them (thank you Volvo for leaving the wires there for me). I added the button to the headlight switch as well. My question: is there a fog light relay and if so, where is it? I don't see a spot for it in the fuse panels in the engine, the trunk, or the left side of the dash. I haven't yet removed the CEM fuse panel but I don't see a spot for it in there either.

Does it have a relay? FCP Euro sold me this one: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 0986332021

so I'm assuming the answer is yes but maybe that's for a different model year. I believe the wiring is different in the 2001-2004 V70s.

Thanks!

I searched online for writing diagrams and found the relevant page for fog lights. I see fuses for the front fog lights in the CEM (fuses 17&18) but nothing for a front fog light relay. Is it possible they put this functionality into the CEM board itself in the 2005 and newer models? Anyone know for sure?

you cant just plug in lights and expect them to work, they need programming. If you want to avoid that the only option is to wire up a relay and switch or you could try a "high jack" the factory switch. The factory switches are momentary so you will need a latching relay

alot of people with the newer vehicles have problems with the high beam lights, volvo made the relays integrated into the main pc board so simply plugging in a new relay is not possible. I would guess the fog light relays have also gone into the main board
