2004 V70 XC vs XC70

In searching for an alternative to replacing the entire steering rack on my 2004 XC70 I ran across this replacement for the specific parts, the hard lines on the rack, that are actually failing:

The web site says ,"Only for vehicles with ZF manufactured steering gear" (presumably not SMI racks). My 2004 XC70 has a ZF rack but the web site fitment tool indicates this part will not fit. Only the 2004 V70 XC is indicated to be a fit.

My question is what, if anything, is the difference between V70 XC and XC70 models and will this part fit my 2004 XC70 even though the web site says no? A phone call may be in order but I'm also interested in forum input. (And if they are different why would anyone torture unsuspecting customers with such confusion? No answer, I know.)

Same car. There is no 2004 car labelled V70XC.

The 2002/3? XC70 did have V70XC on the rear of the car, but again are generally known as XC70.

V70XC was a label for the 98-00 P80 chassis Xross Country models.
