Re: A handbrake story

I had a bad e-brake/hand-brake for about 10-years, replacing the pads didn't help and I went through about 4 sets over that 10-year period, I'd got used to it and had it down as a quirk of the model. I was replacing the shoes again that I noticed that one of the cables running to the rear was seized...

Re: A handbrake story

I think MoVolvos means a coupling nut - a long nut that is fully threaded and can be used to connect the broken ends together. This assumes you have at least some of the threads remaining on both parts. The Loctite he is suggesting is Loctite thread locking compound. It will be applied to the thread...

Re: A handbrake story

Another thing to consider on these is the "expander" or "dolphin", as this lady calls it, often becomes rusted & basically immobile. The hinge point is essentially just a zinc'd rivet that corrosion affects over time, eventually limiting it's range of motion to nil. They are ...

Re: A handbrake story

unfortunately I cannot tighten the nut any further EDIT: Do this at your own discretion and risk. Look at the cable end starting @ 17:30. Put a sleeve half the size of that cylinder cable end to decrease the length of the cable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTLZuz70nEk&feature=emb_logo - Fin...

Re: Trivial - Air filter brand you trust for performance?

you can sell headlights at 100% margin when you sell air filters at 5000% margin

Use a Mann or Volvo filter, buy once , pay once if you are a cheapskate like me. You won’t get HP increases from air filter changes

Re: A handbrake story

yes, sounds very doable. Im considering doing this with several small washers I can cut in half with pliers. But I'm considering aborting this if it appears that I'll need to remove the whole cable to manage getting the cable end off and on again. Doing all the troubleshooting from under the car ju...

Re: Replacing 2005 Xenon HID light assembly with 2003 Standard?

ive looked at the wiring diagram and it looks doable. I cannot post a pic because it looks like this website is having issues but the xenon has an extra relay CM16 that needs to be re wired to the standard CM17

Re: Replacing 2005 Xenon HID light assembly with 2003 Standard?

You need a complete redo of the wiring plus car's configuration change.

Re: 2007 S60 Headlight double trouble.

Take the headlight out - it is super easy. Remove the bulb and see what you have access to from the back. On my 2004 S80 I had a similar issue and was able to repair it from the bulb access. As it is so easy to remove it makes no sense to force anything without looking first. Better safe than sorry....

Re: Abnormal tire wear..

Update: both front wheels severe toe out. Camber is within tolerance. Front toe was adjusted on the tie rods and car is transformed!

They said rear bushes are on the way out causing uneven wear.
Any suggestions what to do to square up the rear end?
Thanks for all comments advice.
