Re: Timing belt wandering 96 10v 850

My Gates belt wandered when I installed an Aisin kit on my 1996 20V, but not enough to squeal. I simply did nothing about it. I haven't even pulled the cover to check on it. It's had many miles put on it since installation. I can understand the sound being quite concerning.

Re: Pierburg SAS pump on closeout at Rockauto under $100

Nope. They fail internally. For the effort to swap and the cost of the pump, it is false economy to try to fix it. If you want to try, remove it and maybe try something like sensor cleaner sprayed into it to see if it cleans any gunk out. Once it dries out, try blowing through it both ways. If you ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I decided to paint the intake! Good enough I think. https://i.imgur.com/7UswJgmh.jpg That's probably the best easy solution. I painted an aluminum alternator bracket for my Buick last fall.... still need to install it. I did use an engine paint, so it should last decently. Even on vintage motorcycl...

Re: Pierburg SAS pump on closeout at Rockauto under $100

I'm still waiting for the valve from FCP. I got the gasket yesterday... they shipped a tiny gasket in a box that's approximately the size of a shoe box! I got free shipping, but am still horrified by the waste.

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT

Love that billet plywood head.

Note: on the wiring loom. Mine is in decent shape, but every time I look at a P2 at the auction it's barely there.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

170 days since Val the Volvo was last run... Very nice. Unfortunately, I've driven mine all winter. The past two years I didn't do that. This time, I didn't really have much of a choice since I couldn't find a good winter car since wrecking my S70 by hitting a deer. Normally, by this time I'm itchi...

Re: breather box?

"breather box" to me, would mean the PCV system, not the air filter, especially when talking about hoses and other parts breaking. Whatever, the dealer did, sounds like it was run a quick scan and throw up their hands, and say I'm sorry. I'd also look at the ignition, although, an undercar...

Neil.
I think mine did have a separate washer which made me think it might not be original. I keep forgetting to look for it, when I go out to the garage.

Re: 96 850 Parking brake cable options

Need to replace the parking brake cable on this car. Just called Volvo and it is on back order with no ETA!! I tried Pro parts Sweden in the past and they were junk and didn't even fit. The only other option we have found is a Febi part. Has anyone tried these and they were ok? I did see another Vi...
