Re: 850 back seat latches not working?
I actually do have a book, but assumed this might turn into a glovebox situation.... and it still may. I saw the red levers in the trunk and couldn't move them either. I think they're in the unlocked position, but I'll have to look again to be sure. Dunno if it helps, but this is what mine looks li...

Re: Air Recirculation Not Working
Volvo's Advocate -
FWIW, in the winter, I may run recirc for a bit when
warming up the car, but not only are these rigs pretty
tight and changing air is a good thing, moisture build
up when it's cold out starts causing problems.
Most notably, fogging or icing up windows.

Re: 2000 S70 SE Base Air Intake Flap
If you zip-tie the cardboard to the back of the grille you stop more of the cold air. You still get cold air fed up from the lower air guide but it reduces the amount/speed of the cold air allowing the car to warm up quicker. It is not perfect but it helps up here at -30C and below!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The Weather Man finally gave me something besides monsoon or arctic, so I washed the container holding all my spare cash from the last year or so.
Just found the "R" badge I bought last spring. I think it's time.

Re: Multiple defective aftermarket heater cores
I need this sorted. So after finding useful posts here from others I have doubled up. Removed the new core, and applied a very thin sliver of silicon gasket to both mating faces, reset the O rings. (New ones supplied with core - prob not OEM) I also have replaced the screw with an M4 nut, washers an...

Re: Best tool to open up fog light holes on 1996 850 bumper/valance, and any tips?
Just to close the loop on this, I ended up doing the job with a simple utility knife. The key is to use high quality blades and make many small cuts around the perimeter, going deeper and deeper each time. When you’re done, just hit the perimeter with some sandpaper to smooth out the cuts. It probab...

Re: Can you gap your own Spark Plugs? 1998 v70 non turbo FWD
It’s great that this came up today. Evita , 99 S70 , came up with a rough start this week, and checking the log, the plugs were Cu with 25k on them. We pulled one out and it looked big, but I didn’t have a gap gauge. Abby suggested I use my vernier open to 028 and cast a sun shadow on the plug to me...
