Upper turbo coolant hose installation tip
At least if using a silicone hose, it's not possible to install the upper turbo coolant hose with just your hands. Robert alludes to the technique in his video, but doesn't show it. Re: Automatic transmission fluid brand recommendations
The 4-speed automatics originally took Dex/Merc, but Volvo has said JWS3309 is also OK and may give smoother lockup engagement (Tech Net Note 40-04 and Service Bulletin 43-0029). One option for JWS3309 is Toyota T-IV, part number 00279-000T4-01 for 1 quart or 00279-000T4-6S for 6 quarts, about $6 a ...

Re: Help troubleshooting coolant temp and codes
The thermostat could be stuck open. I would replace it. Be careful of the bolts on the thermostat housing, they strip easily and can be difficult to remove.

Re: Volvo OBDII Emission Inspection & "Readiness" Check PDF is here
That drive cycle is not enough for most P80s anyway. The drive cycle for our problem children is attached.
