Re: Intermittent stalling

You car has the OBD I diagnostic system. Read about it via the link below. You retrieve the fault codes through the little box somewhere around the LH strut tower. No scan tool is required. (Your car has the Bosch fuel and ignition systems, NOT Rex/Regina. The OBD can store up to about three fault c...

Re: Long term results for 2001 V70 auto transmission drain and fill

On the P2 cars it’s rather easy (after one initial sump drain and refill) to break into the return trans cooler line and let the internal p...

Re: O2 sensor indicating lean, running rich

It would make sense that if the O2 sensor is (falsely) reading too lean that the system would richen the mixture in reaction. Maybe try a new O2 sensor?? Also, have you connected a fuel pressure gauge at the injector rail to make sure the pressure isn’t running too high?

However if your car is a non-turbo then there will be a vacuum control diaphragm that is integral to the oil trap. Those diaphragms get coked up to the point of failure making the oil trap a throw-awa...

Re: Rolling in Park, 2004 v70 2.4

Are both wheel raised off the ground? If both front wheels are off the ground then I would expect you to be able to spin either wheel which causes the opposite wheel to spin in the opposite direction. Try jacking up only ONE wheel with the opposite wheel firmly planted on the ground. Are you then ab...

Re: 2004 with fuel filter in backwards for years!

abscate wrote: 07 Jan 2025, 03:56 The Kat came to me with the reversed fuel filter. It means the longer you drive the fuller your tank, as the fuel follows the arrow of course
And if you do decide to turn the filter around it will automatically go into “self cleaning” mode.

Re: 07 XC70 Accident - Replace Fender/bumper?

Have you contacted the offending driver’s insurance company? Just because your car carries a salvage title doesn’t mean they won’t give you some sort of settlement. A $1000 check would go a long way toward fixing it.
