Re: 1996 850 NA Replace Front Oxygen Sensor P0133
I bought a Tekton socket last year in January (2021), and that worked great -- did not open up or spread noticeably while removing the old O2 sensor. It was a TEKTON 3/8 Inch Drive x 7/8 Inch Offset 6-Point Oxygen Sensor Socket, part number 47749. Only cost $8 at that time, now $11 in Oct 2022.

Re: P80 Inspection, service and repair check list
I took a look at it and thought it looked comprehensive--nothing jumped out as missing to me. I was inspired to go look at my car more closely.

Re: Power steering fluid leaking out bellow
I noticed the rack on my '97 855 GLT started leaking about 10 years ago. The leak was about 25-50mL per week. I switched from regular ATF to "high mileage" ATF, currently using the inexpensive "SuperTech" brand from Walmart. That slowed the leakage down to less than 25 mL per mon...

Re: Name that rusty part
Exciting to have a new entry in the ongoing contest…
I am guessing that it is the pinch bolt at the base of the control arm that attaches to the wheel hub.

Re: What is the thick yellow grease inside the PNP switch?
I took some higher magnification photographs of the copper contactors. They have some black tarnish and some wear. The first photograph is the contactor seen from the side. The contact surface is at the top. The second photograph shows all three contactors side-by-side looking down at the contact su...

Re: 97 850 GLT crank no start after very cold temps
Moved down to NC a while ago in part to escape the cold, but when I lived in CT we once had a super cold (for me at least) spell of about a week at around 0F (about -20C) and after that my car would crank but not start for a couple of days. I heated up the fuel filter with a hair dryer -- enough hea...

Re: 850 intermittent heater / blower function ...
From the description of the fan running at full speed, I agree it sounds like the power stage / fan speed controller may have failed. One of the failure modes of the power transistor is to fail "closed" which causes the fan to run at high speed. On the blower motor, my experience was that ...

Re: Need advice on best way to repair tailgate leak at hinge
I have had good luck recently sourcing parts from Voluparts.com in Atlanta. Another good source would be from Robert Spinner, who has a great YouTube channel RobertDIY.
If there is a local junkyard available, you might be able to find the part there.
